Most of the patterns featured in this book are for plain fabric and not surprisingly the success it held when was published back in 1994 would not have been possible today because of the internet free downloadable flower designs and mainly because of how traditional Companies supplying designs and threads are now very aggressive in pursuit of their customers retention and do so by sending them free patterns to download with links to discounts on yarn and embroidery threads.
For example today, I received an email from Anchor informing me of new free patterns to download along with a list of discounts and promotions for other items. DMC, another traditional household name , is also offering free embroidery patterns.
