I received my Duftin Stitch- Art Christmas Fleece Wall hanging today and within one hour and a half had all the yellow coded cross stitch boxes stitched. 

Must confess that rather than using the embroidery threads supplied in my kit, I am using crochet threads instead, as I work better when the stein is more resistant and the stitches fall quicker in line with the body work. Though is not pleasant to look at the crochet threads because lack the silkiness of the  embroidery threads , it does the job and this is what is more important to me at the moment.

DMC CHRISTMAS TABLE RUNNER WITH 14 COUNT AIDA BAND REVIEW

DMC is a classic household name for threads, yarns, kits, canvas and pretty much everything else related with embroidery and enrichment of the family home with linen and decorations.

I am briefly reviewing a DMC CHRISTMAS TABLE RUNNER WITH 14 COUNT AIDA BAND prior to engaging in my planned project for next month .

The table runner is of very good quality , stern and resistant to appliques, stubborn embroidery stitchery , normal cross stitch and does not tear under  pressure of  pointy needles during assembly of basic stitches to crochet edges.

As you can see by the pictures below the linen does not show any stitches engaged during the joining of the fabrics so I am assuming is pressed , what is really a plus to the product itself.

Most importantly,  DMC now has removed the price , usual £3 per design, and is offering free download for dozens of motifs, especially Christmas motifs. Borders from countries like Romania, France and complete Greek and Turkish embroidery tiles not to mention dozens of beautiful borders , dozens of free cushion cover motifs and dozens of motifs for children, teenagers and especial occasions like marriages and Christenings.

Wishing I had time for more , I downloaded these quick embroidery design for my DMC table runner,

This is a wonderful place to download designs as is virus free, contrary to some pictures I downloaded via Pin Interest and the pictures are of different sizes for different projects like cushions. I am in love with DMC and would not like to be anywhere else for the next couple of hours.

If you are a stitcher you most likely already know the site but if you are new don't waste the opportunity to try something new .

and definitely does not have any freebies.

What you make of my project to be  - hopefully soon to be ! - , Christmas table runner? I got the measurements right and the fabric is now stretching for a few weeks , well rolled and wrapped in vegetable paper. Wish me luck as will be a very speedy project of two DMC Rocking Around the Christmas Tree at the edge of each end. IF time allows I will crochet the edge with a nice border !

New project for Family Celebration started this weekend but set to go on for a few nights

My parents are due to celebrate 50 years of marriage but because my cousin passed away last week after a short battle with cancer they are not celebrating as they had planned as they are awfully abated with my cousin journey to meet God Almighty.

My cousin left two young daughters, one 18 and other 22 and a grandchild of four battling leukaemia.

It is very devastating to experience the loss of someone who still had a long journey ahead and who was a loving caring lady . Her devastated husband and daughters are beyond devastated.

The whole process of Cancer treatment is quite tortuous and unfair. For example , after testing her and being informed , the Doctor waited one whole month to break to her the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

She waited a few more weeks after that to start chemotherapy  and her Doctor decided to block her from doing more sessions because she looked very weak . The fact is that my cousin lost weight because she was eating soup only . When she was allowed to retake the treatment the cancer had further advanced and she died shortly after - one week ago.

A banker most her life, who lost her mother two years ago to colon cancer, her father 15 years ago to hand tumour and her brother to high pressure, she was considered healthy and looking forward to a very long life.

What went wrong and what goes wrong in so many young people being diagnosed shortly before passing away with aggressive cancer?

There are no answers for such and we are not here to last, as matter of fact as the old saying reminds us all ' We don't come to this Earth to get out of it alive' , yet I am certain that Cancer is one of them battles that Science should have won already.

Sad as it is and sad as the situation will continue to present itself as my parents and all of us bereave the loss of our lovely cousin Vanda ...............

 I feel that a handmade gift from the 1970's would be a true and sincere Silent present to remind my parents of their undeniable love for one another.

To my regret I embarked on a Happiness Tree sampler . Yes, it is the most appropriate present but I am starting from scratch cross stitching on linen. Yes , I am lucky it is already printed but sincerely is way harder to embroider cross stitch and printed design on linen than to do any white work on linen as the lines of the linen per se are a good indicator of the symmetry needed to get all work done without transfer designs. Yes,it is Twilleys of Stamford a top brand but I am missing Vervaco Secret Stitch along designs and I need to step up to start on my Christmas crafts with my other group.

Fingers crosses ,I can make this sampler in the matter of a few nights for my parents.

Anchor Tapestry Kit Review ' Rico Still Life Sunflowers Tapestry Kit' November 2019

Is literally impossible to put fault on Anchor and its high quality Tapestry yarn, 100 per cent cotton , so it's not surprising that I give Anchor 10 out of 10 for Tapestry kits which include frame,  printed canvas, needle and cotton threads.

As with all cotton yarn, the threads have to be stretched and rolled in a pen or card to avoid getting humid.
The project was easy to execute and I am the second person online to have completed and shared the project on social media.

The first person to complete it already placed her kit on the market for sale and Good luck for whoever buys it as it looks truly awful - so poorly executed that I feel sorry not only for whoever buys it but also for whoever completed the project.

The person is selling the complete tapestry kit on ebay for £12 . But frankly, who would buy that even for a penny?
