This week has been a week of sad celebrations as some of my friends and acquaintances go back to Poland.
Though it is lockdown and many people are dying and there are regulations for people not to meet , the Eastern Europeans, Polish and Russian mainly - have been breaking lockdown indoors like it is the era of Prohibition with Al Capone!
I decided to have my friends over and we will party two nights, one for good health and other for good journey. The good thing is that I can wear short dresses while I can't do it if I go out because of society and my family as well.
It is refreshing to have finished my scarf which I will wear until I can't wear it no more. Pom pom yarn is a nice experience but is nothing especial, only rare and to some people disgusting. Here is me and my friends in my kids bedroom checking the length of the scarf.

Now I smile because they were discussing that I have the Slavic mark on my left leg and left arm. I told them my arm got burnt with the sun when I was a kid but my mom said was a birth mark that expanded in my arm while the red mark did not. I smile and tell them that I will take a DNA test.
Later after the party me and my eldest son had a cup of ovaltine in the kitchen while our guests slept in the kids bedroom. This scarf is lovely !
My son was really touched by our friends leaving and shocked with Brexit and Cov-19 lockdown.
I am just grateful that we met good people that like vessels moved down the stream towards the high sea of life with mutual good memories!
Day 2 of our Fairwell Festivities were a bit strange as my friends not only forced me to book a DNA test but were asking about a Polish guy I date on and for the last few years. They told me that night one of his exes was South African not Trinidadian as he has told me. I was caught by surprise as people from that part of Africa are known to have certain diseases and have no idea why he would have lied to me. My friend's husband and brother had to go down to SuperDrug to get baby formula for Tatiana who was teething at the time and really restless so they brought me an HIV test which cost £25 . The test tested negative and we celebrated some more.

They told me that my Polish neighbours are either mixed with Indian or Muslim because of their voices and accents. I was taken aback by their Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim conversation because I always thought people like that were anti everything, especially anti-mixed race. I wondered if they were anti-Jewish as well and how would they react that though I am Catholic I have also Jewish ancestors forced to convert to Christianity and to move to Cape Verde. I wondered but kept quiet as nothing matters when hosting but to be a good host.
To my surprise my friends grandparents back home live in a village where the electricity is not reliable and the toilets are holes in the floor. My friends bake everything and save a lot of money. Since they left I stopped buying in Lidl.
They are very intelligent people, though in their country education is free they decided to come here to work in factories and learn all they could about European supply chain so as to supply uranium and minerals from Eastern Europe into Western Europe.
This is something quite interesting as I was born in Cape Verde and should have done the same as in Cape Verde there are lots of resources like coral.
Wonder now what will my DNA kit will look like and what will the results say in relation to what makes me and what made me throughout the centuries in the place I was born.
Meanwhile I say Bye Bye Tatiana, the baby of the year!
I always looked completely tired around my friends because they use to talk about very heavy subjects that I really felt sad to hear so much hate.
Vladimir asked me to smile as he wanted to show my teeth to his friend who is a dentist and does teeth implants very cheap. I found that strange as I have real white teeth , not regular American teeth but rather have real than fake and would not pull my white irregular out of my mouth to have fake regular and look like Barbie and Ken.
