Tin Whistle and the Jazz Groups

Today I published some music in the Jazz Groups and asked basic technical questions about which version would be better, gave two tempo and two range options via  two different versions of my creation but all the other musicians did was to click like or download the video.

Sometimes I feel that people are not too busy to omit an opinion, they simply care about not omitting an opinion.

I am in all jazz groups for musicians on Facebook and seem that the general quality of the members is to showcase work rather than think about challenging their production and craft. Yes music can be spontaneous but experimenting also is part of creating!

Best wishes,

Ariane

Sweet Potato Comfort Pie: 7th Annual Martin Luther King Service Holiday Sweet Potato Comfort Pie: A Catalyst for Caring and Building Community

Today I am attending a series of zoom workshops and community talks related to the Sweet Potato Comfort Pie Celebration to mark Martin Luther King holiday.

I rushed down the shops to get the sweet potatoes as I don't usually buy so as  to avoid sugar

Once I got the basic ingredients to start the Comfort Pie, I decided to use very little sugar and vegetarian butter

I followed the recipe given by the organizer of the event,

But the organizer is selling the pies, I am not! I decided to chose a shape to celebrate the meaning of MLK holiday so I went for the Liberty Bell . As I do not own a tin shaped bell, I used tin foil ,

And finally, I put it in a cake box just like if I was there and going to the event myself,

Here are the instructions to join online

We are excited to see you at tomorrow's 7th Annual Martin Luther King program co-hosted by Sweet Potato Comfort Pie and Breck School. The program will start at 2:00 PM.

How to login to the Program on Sunday January 17th

 Great Sunday and MLK celebrations!

Best wishes,

Ariane

Volunteering at the US National Archives

Aside looking after my disabled son, home-schooling two kids, I also volunteer at the National Archives under the Citizen Archivist project.

I use my own name Ariane Brito so make sure to check my transcriptions. My assistant name is Kitty , my cat as she sits in between me and the computer screen.

It is quite interesting and I wish I had the opportunity to work in there and get paid everyday. As I am in Britain I just volunteer, which is really rewarding as well,

You can check the transcripts which need transcribing and volunteer as well . Check this letter

Letter from Ida B. Wells-Barnett to Mr. Dawes

Fascinating right? I love History!

What about you?

Concert ‘Celebrate Georgia’ on Sunday, January 3 at 5pm ET

Really happy to have somewhere to go virtually this Sunday.

When We All Vote invited me, what was so nice as I got to see the concert in a different platform but if you did not get an invitation you can still watch it here https://www.whenweallvote.org/concert/

Was a real cool concert! I am into Celine Dion and into that style but must say was ten out of ten!

What were you up to this Sunday?

Best wishes,

Ariane

New Year Party under lockdown

Because I could not take the kids anywhere as we were under lockdown I changed hats and decided to be mom on the side and party entertainer at the front of tonight's concert.

The kids loved it . I sang a few of my songs. My favourite song made and performed by me is " White Swarf Star I am!"

Felt a bit embarrassed and slightly old for an entertainer but what matters is that the kids still got their  New Year concert!

Did my nails wine mixed with pink to match the dress

Perfumed myself with Beyoncé, which kids hate the smell but hey I like it, is not my usual but okay

And voila party time!

Best wishes,

Ariane
