Book Review: Christmas Stockings to Cross Stitch by Linda Gillum, American School of Needlework ( San Marcus) 1990

If Linda Gillum's name does not ring a bell, rest assured that just the fact that she had some of her books published by the American School of Needlework ( " Excellence in Instruction" ) is indicative that her work is serious needlework!

The American School of Needlework was more than a school, was also a publishing institution that shall not be forgotten by many crafters, crocheters and knitters.

Author of more than a dozen books , Linda Gillum is creme de la creme of the Cross stitching classic design for embroidery.

If you would like to keep up with her current work , visit the publishers  Kooler Design Studio, currently running a sale for Christmas charts and books. Their items are available for immediate download. You can also join their Etsy and Pinterest community of followers and buyers.

They also have immediate download for free projects. Their portfolio includes knitting, crochet and needlework

Kooler Design Studio published Linda Gillum latest book currently available on Amazon

Christmas Stockings to Cross Stitch is a book easily found in antiques shops . Printed in the shape of a 17 A4 leaflet, this will remain a classic for posterity.

If you can't get hold of the book, you can refer to previous books reviewed in this blog such as Patrice Boerens book ' Two-Hour Cross stitch - 515 Fabulous Designs- and simply embroider one of the Christmas motifs prior to sewing your own  Christmas stocking. Feel free to follow the steps I followed on the project ' Ariane Christmas Stockings' published here last December and drop us a comment.

Until next time,

Best wishes,

Ariane
