EHRMAN TAPESTRY KITS - DE CREME DE LA CREME OF BRITISH CUSHION KITS
Ehrman Tapestry Kits are the most successful and expensive cushion and rug kits in the British market and the success spanning over 4 decades is owned to Creativity, Historians consultation with Designers , Authority venues as the VA Museum and certified distributors .
However, we left something out and that is that the kits are 100 per cent made in Britain and reflect the authenticity and heritage of a country internationally known to be inclusive of all Commonwealth designs in their historical textile repertoire.
The Erhman Tapestry kits catalogue featuring cushion and rug kits is available as pdf document at the official Ehrman Tapestry website. The last page of the catalogue is an order form. The company also takes orders on the phone , via Victoria and Albert Museum shop , via Ehrman tapestry online shop or by order placed directly or through the official distributors.
Ehrman cushion kits tend to be particularly dear, for example this one below is on sale at the Victorian and Albert Museum for £70.
Voysey River Needlepoint Kit by Ehrman
If you feel the price is truly selective then the price of the rug kits will leave you surprised as well!
The following rug kit is available in the catalogue listed above for the mere price of £580!
RUG OF FLOWERS
Candace Bahouth
54” x 38”. 138cm x 98cm.
holes to the inch canvas.
The wool is stitched double.
£580.00
If the prices of the items seem dear or let's say it frankly 'consumer selective' , then there is the people's option , which happens to be mine as well, so you are indeed in the right blog!
You can either purchase Candace Bahouth books on Amazon or copy medieval rugs designs available on public domains.
I actually purchased three books edited by Hugh Ehrman.
I offered this Red House cross stitched picture to my parents . Is still framed and hanging in their living room wall. Is a long lengthy work but tremendously rewarding as is such a classic design dating back to 1740.Designer Richard Harrison left us a true legacy of design and colour.
If you would like to reproduce this beautiful tapestry , the Embroiderer's Guild Chart for Red House can be found on page 66 of the book Designer Needlepoint edited by Hugh Ehrman.
These three books will enrich your life and set you free from tapestry kits as the charts are designed in cross stitch square paper.
Of course, there are points in our lives that copying designs from charts is a true challenge , not only because of our eyesight but also because we multitask tapestry with tv series and long conversations with close friends and relatives.
I, myself can't hide how difficult is it for me to embroider counted canvas. Especially to undo mistakes of count !
If you are one of those as well then tapestry kits will always make justice to your situation as the kits canvas is already printed with the design of your choice.
Hope these reviews have proved useful, and I am certain that there was no need to convey a great deal of information on Erhman tapestry as there is quite a lot of information available already at the Victoria and Albert Museum and at the Ehrman tapestry website directed to your attention in the beginning of this post.
Its all from me today,
Until next time,
Best wishes,
Ariane
